One of our newest clubs, Elements Science Club was created to give our Darnaby students another venue to explore their passion for STEM. In this club's short time at Darnaby, students have been exposed to various career opportunities in scientific fields with our first year's study of “What is your Science?” and a focus in the biomedical field the following year with “Paging Dr Ranger.” Integrating STEM professionals into the curriculum, Darnaby students were able to learn from the University of Tulsa professor of chemistry Dr. Lamar, reverse engineer computers with a leading engineering firm and build a living heart with a local Physician’s Assistant. Elements club members were also granted the rare experience of presenting their arm prosthetics in front of the US. Department of Education, during their tour.
